Getting started

We encourage investigators who are interested in exploring the SDMC’s services to contact us early in the study design process. Investigators who are interested in using the SDMC should contact Carol Lowenstein.

In order to provide the services that match best your needs, your request for assistance will initiate the following process:

Project assessment

Through an initial project assessment process, we work with investigators to determine the project’s overall scope and range of services needed. Most proposals undergo scientific review by the Core’s survey methodologist to ensure that services are tailored to projects’ scientific needs and budget constraints.

Proposal: A detailed scope of services and estimate of costs is provided for review and acceptance or revision.

Implementation: After acceptance of the proposal, projects are assigned to SDMC staff members with the appropriate expertise. To request assistance please contact Carol Lowenstein –  carol_lowenstein@dfci.harvard.edu.  We are located at 375 Longwood, sixth floor, within the Division of Population Sciences.

Services can be provided at locations throughout the Dana Farber community and beyond.
